Our thermocouples are available in both standard and custom designs to meet different operating conditions and industrial requirements.

Thermocouples operate based on the Seebeck Effect, where two dissimilar metallic conductors joined at two junctions generate an electromotive force (EMF) when exposed to different temperatures.

The hot junction is exposed to the measuring temperature, while the cold junction acts as the reference point. The generated voltage is proportional to the temperature difference and is converted into a temperature reading using standard calibration tables.

Thermocouples are widely used for accurate temperature measurement in low- and high-temperature industrial applications.

Thermocouple Categories

General Purpose Thermocouples

Basic welded-junction thermocouples made from bare wires or insulated cables. Available in different wire sizes, with junctions welded in an inert argon atmosphere.

Hand-Held Thermocouples

Portable sensors supplied with a 1-meter extended coiled lead and miniature flat pin plug, compatible with Thermo Tec hand-held indicators and most standard instruments.

Screw-On Spring Style Bayonet Thermocouples

Designed for plastics machinery and general-purpose applications. Supplied with a 200 mm spring and adjustable one-slot bayonet cap for fine positioning. Available in Types K, T, J, N, and E, with sensing tips in 18 mm length and 4.7, 6.0, or 8.0 mm diameter.

Same design as the standard bayonet type, with added flexible stainless-steel armored cable for enhanced mechanical protection in demanding environments.

Heavy-Duty Screw-On Spring Bayonet Thermocouples

Suitable for surface temperature measurement applications. Available in Types K, T, J, N, and E.

Surface Thermocouples

Designed for quick surface measurement on objects up to 6 mm thick or diameter. Available in Types K, T, J, N, and E, with stainless-steel braided fiberglass cable and operating temperature up to 300°C.

Crocodile Clip Thermocouples

Used for pipe temperature measurement up to 600°C. Available in Types K, T, J, N, and E, with mineral-insulated construction, insulated or grounded junctions, and stainless-steel conduit over fiberglass extension leads. Available in 90° to pipe or in-line to pipe designs.
