Immersion Thermocouple
Fast immersion consumable thermocouples consist mainly of a temperature-measuring probe and a protective paper tube assembly. The positive and negative poles of the thermocouple probe are welded to compensation wires, which are embedded in a support frame and covered by a small paper tube. The hot junction is supported and protected by a quartz tube, while a protective cap covers the probe to prevent contamination from molten metal residues.
All components are assembled inside the thermocouple tip and bonded together using refractory filler, forming a single, integrated unit. Due to this design, fast immersion consumable thermocouples are single-use devices, specifically developed for steelmaking and high-temperature molten metal applications.
The thermocouple operates based on the thermoelectric effect of metals, generating a voltage proportional to the temperature difference between the hot junction immersed in the molten metal and the reference end. This allows for fast, accurate, and reliable temperature measurement.
Thermocouple carbon cup tips are disposable temperature-measuring sensors designed to provide rapid response and high accuracy when measuring molten metal temperatures. The carbon cup effectively protects the thermocouple junction from extreme heat, slag, and thermal shock, while ensuring stable and repeatable readings. These tips are widely used in steel plants, foundries, and metallurgical processes where precise temperature control is essential.
